Lecturer, School of Industrial Design

Florian Vollmer is a design leader and educator focusing on the creation of meaningful, positive user experiences. His practice and teaching are centered around Service Design and Design Management, along with Corporate Identity, User-Centered Design, and Design Thinking.

Vollmer is Service Design leader in the TechOps group at NCR, and is spearheading the adoption of service design methods for better B2B co-creation and innovation. 

Previously, Vollmer helped build and pivot, and ultimately sell, InReality, a customer experience technology firm. He was with the company for the past decade. Firmly believing in the business-driving power of design, he focused on helping clients create engaging user experiences at all brand touchpoints.

Originally from Essen, Germany, Vollmer holds a Master of Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His undergraduate studies led him to the Köln International School of Design, the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, and the University of Central England - Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD).

Vollmer's professional work includes a variety of projects, ranging from Service Design Tools & Methods to Corporate Identity Systems to Interactive Experiences to the design of Commercial Interior Environments.
